Witnesses of remembrance in Tuvalu: Tracing the films and publications of Gerd Koch
##Roughly 30 years after Gerd Koch´s research in Tuvalu, the author began her own study there. Right from the beginning her path crossed the tracks of Koch´s work: both his book and his films. An analysis of the indigenous way to incorporate these foreign representations of knowledge and the reactions towards her own role as mediator between the local and the foreign, the past and the present, sheds an interesting light on Tuvaluan concepts of remembrance, narration and tradition of knowledge.##
