It is based on 600 interviews of inhabitants and shows that Brazilian Favelas are not only mass housing complexes characterized by drugs, suffering and violence, but show them as dwelling places that have become livable communities through decades of fight for survival, the will to live of their inhabitants, places where the family and religion are highly valued.
