##Main culture-bound syndromes in Bolivia
Bolivia is a country with a very heterogeneous population, made up of Caucasian-type people, Mestizos, Indians and a small black community. That is why different concepts of ethnic, folkloric or popular illness are existent which are different from those described in academic textbooks of Western medicine. Local psychiatric culture-bound syndromes connected with affective disturbances and susto are described according to their source of origin.##
