Intercultural communication - priority of communication over consensus?
##The paper proposes to do the following things: Firstly, it delineates as clearly as possible the central thesis of the primacy of communication. Secondly, without rejecting the main concern of consensualism, the paper does plead for "acquiescence" in face of the multiplicity of views. Thirdly whoever is in favour of the values e.g. pluralism, tolerance, openness and the like, does not hesitate to take methodological and ethical pluralism seriously. Fourthly, the paper introduces the concept of an analogous hermeneutics which steers clear between the two extremes of total commensurability and incommensurability pleading, thus, for overlapping dynamic structures to be found as anthropological constants in spite of the fundamental culture-bound differences. Truth, in whatever field, is committed more to communication than to consensus.##
