##Pregnancy and birth in Bolivia
Bolivia suffers from a high quote of mortality in children and mothers. Aymara Indians of Altiplano for more than 400 years of Spanish colonialism conserved their traditions. Yatiris, traditional medicines, are most important members of the society. Pregnant women and their children are in danger because they can easily be attacked by ghosts. Nevertheless, traditional medicine does not practice prenatal control. That might be one reason why more than 50% of the women do not participate in prenatal control programs. Others might be long distances as well as the fear of the mothers. Deliveries take place at home attended by a relative and often without prenatal care.##
