The sixth sense. Anthropological studies on phenomena of extrasensual perception
Paranormal experiences like clairvoyance, telepathy, spirit contact, near-death experiences, and precognition have been part and parcel of ’premodern´, traditional cultures. Müller tries to explain these phenomena on an anthropological basis, including recent parapsychological and natural-scientific (physical) insights from an ’occidental´ (and thus ’Christian´) position of the history of ideas. So in this essay anthropological data as well as the ’western´ history of ideas converge and result in an overview of such phenomena.
