The access to land here Đ as in other West African cities Đ is regulated by juridical pluralism, traditonal law and law institutionalized in colonial times. Hence, discussions of who were the original settlers, the history of settlement etc. emerge, and Gensler describes this process and the history, and resulting changes in the juridical overall system.
